Vintage last rites crucifix sick call cross w/ faux pearl inlay

This vintage Last Rites/sick call cross is such an interesting find! Made to hang on a wall until the time when a priest must be called to attend to the sick and dying. Hidden inside the cross would be all the tools needed for the sacrament- candles, cotton, and a bottle to hold Holy Water. *PLEASE NOTE* This set is not complete and does not include the implements. Listing is for the crucifix only.

DESCRIPTION
✦ Vintage wooden Last Rites Crucifix kit
✦ Includes a wooden crucifix that slides open to reveal a hidden compartment and slots to hold candles.
✦ Crucifix is made of wood with plastic/celluloid faux pearl inlay and metal accents.
✦ Includes 2 candles that have been used and are partially burned/melted and are included as they were with the crucifix when sourced.
✦ Ready to hang on wall
✦ Wear from age including scratches, dents, and chips in wood

DETAILS
✦ About 13.25 inches x 7.5 inches when closed

CONDITION
✦ Vintage condition with signs of age and wear. The wooden cross has some chips in spots (see photos), and some scratches, dents, and dings. Wood is old and shows its age.
There is a chip on the back at the top of the cross. This is not visible from the front when hung on a wall.
✦ Metal parts show some tarnish, oxidation,and rust.
✦ Candles are sold AS FOUND and AS IS. Candles are used and partially burned.
